It's his birthday today. We should be so proud that our high school bears his name. Above is a self-portrait.

WOW, Azon! Thanks for the info on Rizal. Indeed it was his birthday yesterday, June 19."Dear Rizal, was born on June 19. He whose love for country's sake was deep and keen..."
The Philippines is truly a great nation, and Jose Rizal, a truly great man!
MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS!
Our country is blessed to have Jose Rizal as our national hero. The power of his pen really did wonders to free our counrty. But it is sad to say that the honors given to him has waned thru the years.Even the youth set aside his heroism in favor of their new heroes,Superman,Spiderman and the like.It is disheartening to note that his birthday is not even commemorated in all parts of the Philippines. It is only in Laguna where a holiday was declared.
Perhaps we can suggest to JRI management to commemorate his birthday by holding programs and other avtivities in honor of Rizal.
