The batch had not met for a meeting last November. Everyone seemed pre occupied with some personal concerns The next meeting will be this January to further discuss plans for the reunion.Meanwhile we are sending our greetings for the Holidays to you all. First Sunday of Advent

On this the first Sunday of Advent the Church wishes to remind us of what Advent means—a period of preparation for the Advent—the Coming—of Christ our Savior.

October 12 Meeting

The meeting of the Batch at Violet's place was held as scheduled . Three males, Rollie,Ramon, Armie  and 11 ladies attended ; Emma, Julie,Ofelia,Luz Saul, Belen,Mercy, Julita, Siony, Violeta Lagrimas and me .

  The program of activities was finalized as well as the composition of the different committees.

      Balikbayans. It could be eating sessions, bingo sessions, pasyal or any other activities that will
       enhance friendship and camaraderie among us.

Feast of St. Michael , The Archangel

Happy Fiesta !  

Eddie,Annie and Cora visited me today. They came from Las Vegas for  Eddie and Cora's 49th year class reunion in high school. Since Eddie and Annie  may not be able to  come to our golden reunion  because they are coming home also for Eddie's golden reunion in February,this mini reunion served as our early golden reunion. We went to Ontario Mills and had lunch,then Annie and me went shopping. Then we had Starbucks and Pretzel. Afterwards they took me home and they proceeded to San Diego to visit some relatives. As always we had fun,just seeing each other even for a short time  made us so happy. As usual we had some pictorial.

May ipinahabol si Editha,ito yung sumakay kami sa tea cups. mga bata raw ito, 66 minus 60 = 6 years old.

Editha's trip to Southern California,Sept.15-Sept.17,2012,including Disneyland.For 5 hours nag isip bata kami sa Disneyland. We had a lot of fun.

September 7 Batch Meeting

The meeting was attended by 17 batchmates at Rollie's place . Other than the usual attendees, Rene Feliciano and Joey Mariano were present . We reviewed the topics taken in the previous meeting .
The following agreements were reached :
   
         * Venue and food for the Hawaiian Night  -    Abucay Garden Cafe, Abucay, Bataan
         * Rollie's Band will provide the music free of charge
         *Gift giving venue will be at San Vicente Barangay Hall
         * There will be a raffle draw during the Dinner Dance , 3 major prizes will be
             given.
         *  There will be group presentations during the Dinner Dance ; Balikbayan group,
        ,      Bataan Residentss and Manila and outside Bataan   residents   .  
         *  Different committees were organized.

        Details of all the activities/program will be discussed in the next meeting on October 12 at Violet's place.

Day 1

*Thanksgiving Mass---- St. Michael’s Parish Church , Orion

*  Outdoor Fun/ Batch Picnic ---   Francesca’s Inland Resort , Orion

Day 2

*Gift Giving----School bags with school supplies to pre-selected school children from a poor barangay previously identified in coordination with barangay officials.

* Dinner Dance/ Hawaiian Night

      **Raffle 

Day 3 --- Free Activities

     Activities may include visits to nearby tourist destinations , small group gatherings which may be sponsored by groups , and other events .

C . Attire

    Picnic—Gold T-Shirt – To be provided by the committee or sponsored by a group of batchmates.

    Hawaiian Night – Hawaiian costume

D. Food --- Filipino food

      There was a suggestion from those in the US that during the picnic, we will not get a caterer instead the suggested food will be assigned by groups who will take charge of the preparation,  PotLuck style, however funds will come from the collection.

          Boiled Vegetables and bagoong, halabos na hipon, adobong posit,alimasag, inihaw na bangus, pritong tilapia, paksiw na darapa,tuyong udyong, tinapang alugasin/tunsoy/lapad, bagoong na isda halubaybay,/ /itlog ng alugasin,itlog maalat, sinigang na baboy,  okoy ,ginataang kamansi /laing. Inarnibalang  saging na saba,manggang mura with inabagoongan, ilada, halo –halo , bibingka  at iba pang kalamay fruits in season .

The next meeting was scheduled September 7 and the snacks will be sponsored by the September birthday celebrators. Please send your comments and suggestions.

Batch Meeting at Violeta's Place

There were 13 attendees at  

 batch meeting held August 19. Birthday celebrators from January to August shared merienda while the ever gracious host, Violet cooked pancit . Most of us were affected by the recent flooding ,so there were many accounts of the experiences before the meeting formally started. The previous sugestions during the December 2011 meeting were recalled and the recent suggestions from batchmates abroad were discussed too.   Please read highlights of the meeting in the next post .
