Mango Chutney

This is from Violeta Cordero's Kitchen.She used to bring this crispy mango during our gatherings.I am publishing this for her.


Ingredients:
7 pcs medium size mango,(kalabaw variety and manibalang}
1 cup salt
Syrup(2 cups white sugar and 2 cups water


Procedure:

1.Peel the mangoes and cut horizontally
2. Put the mangoes in a mixture of 1 cup salt and water.leave it in the
salt solution overnight.
3. Prepare the syrup,2 cups sugar and 2 cups water.Boil until the sugar is
melted
4.Rinse the mangoes and drain.Pour the syrup and leave it overnight.
5.On the second day, refrigerate.And it is ready to eat

I cannot read this post without drooling.

The mango tree at my brother's place is still heavy with fruit. Wish I knew about this recipe when I was there.

I am embarrassed to admit it but just the thought of it causes me to slobber. Yum yum!

Violet, thanks for this recipe! we have 2 mango trees here in our backyard, hindi nga lang kalabaw variety. i'll try kung pwede sa procedure mo, kasi palagay ko ang sarap-sarap ng luto mong ito. and you know what? i also liked your chicken pastel nong nag-dinner tayo sa inyo. please publish it's recipe, too, ha? didn't know that you are a good cook pala, aside from being a WALANG KUPAS NA BEAUTY. ageless beauty ka talaga!
