MANILA, Philippines -
Four philippine churches from the Spanish colonial era were inscribed in the Unesco World Heritage List in 1993 as “The Baroque Churches of the Philippines.”
The churches are Santo Tomás de Villanueva in Miag-ao, Iloilo, San Agustín in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, Santa María de la Asunción in Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur, and San Agustín in Intramuros, Manila. thanks for this trivia on the HERITAGE CHURCHES. i appreciate more marc and sharm's choice of church for their wedding rites and mass - the SAN AGUSTIN CHURCH in INTRAMUROS.
another trivia - there is a very big museum with priceless artifacts in that church. it took us more than an hour to tour it (after the wedding, of course).entrance fee is 100 pesos less 20% for senior citizens. so tayo sa batch 1963 - 80 pesos lang ang entrance fee natin. yehey!
Yes Jo,I have seen the museum of San Agustin Church courtesy of an Augustinian priest who is a friend of mine. The long hardwood dining table and chairs,the antique cups and saucers and many more.You will appreciate all the artifacts on display.
And speaking of the privileges of Senior citizens...we were so happy yesterday that it only took Julie,his brother Stan and me more than an hour to have our application for renewal of passport processed.That is because DFA Pampanga has a courtesy lane for Senior Citizen.Normally it will take one day to have that facilitated .
