While putting the old magazines in a box yesterday, I chanced upon a KERYGMA issue with a catchy topic on immigration, with a sub-title "Know the Right Reasons for Moving Abroad."
Guess who were featured on pages 28 and 29! Our batchmate, ERNIE DEL ROSARIO, his wife, Cecile, and their sons, Paul and Nikki.
"HOW OUR IMMIGRATION TURNED OUT TO BE OUR MISSION - Moving to Canada was not our plan but God's" (by Ernie and Cecile as told to Alvin Fabella)
What an inspiring story! How I wish I could reprint their moving account here. In the meantime, I urge everyone to secure a copy of said magazine from members of the Couples of Christ or from Kerygma subscribers.

Hi Josie,
For someone who is a voracious reader, I wouldn't be surprised that a copy of that edition of Kerygma would end up in the hands of JOGJMAC. Thanks for reading the article!
A little bit of story: Cecile and I joined the Ligaya Ng Panginoon Community in Manila in 1986, inspired by the unfolding events during the People Power Revolution. This decision changed our lives so much that we got deeper and deeper into Christian community life and mission.
Couples for Christ (CFC)was once an outreach ministry of LNP, so with the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP). Cecile and I served in different capacities in BCBP but more with the parent organization (LNP).
Kerygma is a publication by Bo Sanchez who is a dear friend and an LNP brother, and who became an evangelist through worldwide concerts/teachings about Christianity, and his on-going publication of books and magazines like Kerygma. This is his mission and it makes a lot of difference in the lives of many!
Until our immigration to Canada in 2003, I was LNP district coordinator leading about 150 members in the Paranaque-Alabang Area. We are mostly Catholics committed in very serious ways to love and serve one another, and in loving God.
Now in Toronto, together with 2 couples (former colleagues from LNP Manila), we were inspired to start a Christian community like LNP. From its inception in 2005, we have grown to about 40 members and have affiliated ourselves with an international community of communities called Sword of the Spirit (SOS) which LNP is also a member.
The Light of Life Community meets for praise and worship and for teachings every other week. The smaller groups meet every other week too for fellowship and for support as to how we live fully our Christian life according to the teachings of the Chruch, especially in a place like Toronto.
I have embraced this to be our mission, and accepted this land the Lord has led us into.
In a nutshell, this is our story as far as our Christian life is concerned.
I pray that the others who have not seen the light be brought into the truth of God's presence in their lives!
Amen?
Ernie
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
Ernie, it is really God's plan for you and Cecile to be there in Toronto to spread the Christian life to others especially to those still in the side of darkness. CONTINUE THE GOOD WORK. Same as Josie I also say AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
